The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) presented ITW Food Equipment Group-North America with a 2010 Energy Star Sustained Excellence award . The 2010 Sustained Excellence Awards recognize a select group of organizations that consistently exhibit leadership across the Energy Star program, according to the EPA. These winners reduce greenhouse gas emissions by setting and achieving aggressive goals, employing innovative approaches and showing others what can be achieved through energy efficiency. Hobart has also instituted the use of 100% recyclable stainless steel in their products to cut waste. They recycle many other materials, instead of sending them to a landfill, and they reuse many of the shipping materials to cut waste. ITW was previously named Energy Star Partner of the Year for 2009.
Gaylord's new ELX hood system with ENERGLINK technology provides LEED point opportunities for it's energy efficiency. It lowers air volumes, while improving the exhaust rates. Southbend:
Southbend is the only company to manufacture a full line of Energy Star Standard Convection Ovens, all of which are shipped in cartons made of 100% recycled materials. There are six (6) gas models and four (4) electric models to choose from that are energy star rated. They also offer four (4) steamers that are energy star rated. These can be up to 70% more efficient than units that do not meet these criteria.
